It covers the little data this site touches, why we touch it, and the rights you have over it.

The site itself stores no personal data.

If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we receive what you chose to send — typically your name, your address for correspondence, and the content of your message.

Your details are used for exactly one thing: answering you and handling whatever you asked about.

We do not add you to mailing lists you did not ask for, and we do not share your details with advertisers.

We run no trackers.

One browser setting is saved locally — the fact that you dismissed our notice — and deleting it simply brings the notice back.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information.

It is disclosed only if the law obliges us to, and to no one else.

Correspondence is kept only as long as it is needed to handle your matter and any follow-up, after which it is deleted.

Records we are legally required to keep are kept for the statutory period and no longer.

You can ask at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.

Your correspondence lives in an ordinary, access-protected mailbox, readable only by the people who need to answer you.

We do not sell cruises, take bookings, or handle payment details of any kind — the site exists to publish route guides and port notes, and that limits what data could ever pass through it in the first place.

Some editorial guides in this space quietly run affiliate links that track which cruise line you click through to. This site does not. Links to cruise operators, ports and third-party resources are plain links with no tracking parameter attached, and we do not receive a referral fee tied to your click.

When a reader flags an outdated port detail or a factual error through the contact form, we keep that message only long enough to verify the correction and update the article. Once the article is corrected, the original message is not retained as a record against your name or email.

If what we collect or how long we keep it changes, the update is reflected here with a new date, not folded silently into the existing wording.

This is a set of static pages with no login system, no comment section, and no advertising network embedded on the page. The contact form turns your message into an email draft in your own mail client rather than posting it to a server we control, so nothing about a message you have not yet sent is stored anywhere on our side.

This site is written for an adult travel-planning audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone we know to be under 16.

Reader messages are read and answered from Japan. We do not route correspondence through a third-party helpdesk platform, and we do not transfer message content to a country other than where it was received for processing.
